BEST Homemade Hummus Recipe

Have you ever made your own hummus? It’s easy, fun and so delicious! 😋

We took this on our road trip to have a healthy snack during our long hours in the car.

It’s been a minute since I have made my own hummus, and it was so good, I thought I’d share the recipe you!

✨Best Homemade Hummus✨

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked garbanzo beans (also called chickpeas)

  • 1 Tablespoon tahini

  • 1 lemon 🍋 juiced

  • 1 clove garlic 🧄

  • 1/2 teaspoon veggie salt or sea salt (or to taste)

  • *1-2 drops cumin vitality essential oil (or 1/8 teaspoon cumin powder)

  • 1 Tablespoon each olive oil & water

Instructions:

  • Blend until smooth & enjoy with crackers, carrot & celery sticks, on sandwiches or avocado toast...

*Young Living vitality essential oils are amazing in cooking, baking and bring the most incredible flavor to all types of recipes so they are a staple in my kitchen!

Another fun 🤩 tip for flavor is that I actually made my own garbanzo beans in the Instant Pot and I added powdered cumin, coriander, turmeric, sea salt and black pepper with the water and beans. Don’t worry about this step if you’re not up for making them yourself, canned organic garbanzo beans will work just fine! Adjust amount of salt you add based on whether the canned beans have been salted or not. I prefer to prepare food under salted and add more if I need it.
